As a Respiratory Biologic Sales Specialist – -Peoria, IL , you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives.
Respiratory disease is one of AstraZeneca's main therapy areas, and we have a growing portfolio of medicines that reached more than 17 million patients in 2015. Our aim is to transform asthma and COPD treatment through inhaled combinations at the core of care, biologics for the unmet needs of specific patient populations, and scientific advancements in disease modification. We are building on a 40-year heritage in respiratory disease, and our capability in inhalation technology spans both pressurized metered-dose inhalers (pMDIs) and dry powder inhalers (DPIs), as well as our innovative Co-SuspensionTM Delivery Technology. Our research is focused on four key biological pathways: eosinophilic disease, Th2-driven disease, epithelial-driven pathobiology and autoimmunity.
What you’ll do:
Sales Representative responsible for selling Biologic products. Technical expert on company specific Biologic products. Has a demonstrated ability to interact with key customers in a highly scientific manner to effectively educate and engage healthcare professionals. Typically establishes long-term relationships with key customers. Successfully complete all training requirements, including product examinations.
Engage speciality healthcare professionals in dialogue about approved indications and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing for appropriate patients.
Work with Sales Manager to develop a local strategy and business plan to meet or exceed sales and call execution goals in territory.
Drive sales performance and ensure sales forecasts and assigned budgets meet or exceed therapeutic and territory expectations.
Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed markets information relative to assigned sales territory.
Comply with all regulations regarding interactions with healthcare professionals, distribution of samples, etc.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of three years of Pharmaceutical/ Biotech Sales experience
Track record of engaging key stakeholders in complex clinical environments (mid to senior level healthcare professionals, key accounts and the medical community)
Proven demonstration of successful working in complex cross functional teams
Strong scientific acumen in a highly competitive environment
Strong understanding of the reimbursement and distribution challenges of a biologics product to take a strategic approach to capitalize on marketplace opportunities
A valid driver's license and safe driving record
Preference for candidate to live within market, which includes Champaign IL, Bloomington IL, Decatur IL, Davenport IA, Galesburg IL, Moline IL
Desired Requirements
Respiratory, respiratory biologics, biologics or specialty care experience
Demonstrated experience and mastery in delivering a total office call
Demonstrated effective time management, organizational and communication skills to prioritize opportunities and execute flawlessly
Demonstrated effective leadership, organization and communication skills
Demonstrated judgment and decision-making capability
Be results oriented with demonstrated time management skills
Ability to learn, analyze, understand and convey complex information.

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $136,648.80- $204,973.20 USD Annual, either as annual base pay or as the hourly rate (annual base pay divided by 2080 hours)]. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
